serial anticipation method
n. A form of cued recall in verbal learning in which a subject is shown one word and asked to provide the next word in a list and then shown the correct word so that each trial has both test and training components. It is also used in paired associate learning, in which the subject attempts to recall the paired word when cued with the stimulus word and is then shown the correct word after responding.
