S-R psychology

n. An archaic form of psychology that conceptualizes behavior in terms of the relationship between a stimulus and a response. In classical conditioning, the learning is a connection between a particular response and a novel stimulus associated with an unconditioned stimulus. In instrumental conditioning, it is between a discriminative stimulus and the response.
