vitamin therapy
n. The idea that mental disorders and physical diseases are a result of the lack or oversupply of specific chemicals in the body and can be treated by supplying chemicals to bring about a correct balance. Thus it has been suggested that vitamin C could cure the common cold as colds were a family of diseases resulting, in part, from inadequate functioning of the immune system due to the presence of too many free radicals which could be treated by vitamin C. Also called orthomolecular therapy.
