n. An antipsychotic drug of the phenothi- azine family which works by blocking dopamine receptors and has marked side effects, including tardive dyskinesia, extrapyramidal reactions, neuromuscular rigidity, cognitive slowing, and sedation. Its use has been largely supplanted by newer drugs which are more effective and have fewer side effects.
