Papez circuit

n. One of the major pathways of the limbic system, which is chiefly involved in the cortical control of emotion as well as in storing memory and is circular in structure. The pathway includes connections from the hippocampus to the fornix to the mammillary bodies to the mammillothalamic tract to the anterior thalamic nucleus to the genu of the internal capsule to the cingulate gyrus to the cingulum to the parahippocampal gyrus to the entorhinal cortex to the perforant pathway and finally back to the hippocampus.
