orthopsychiatry

n. A multidisciplinary approach to preventive mental health that includes pediatricians, educators, nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, and psychologists. Orthopsychiatry tries to intervene before a problem arises or in its early stages so as to forestall its development into a full disorder by using educational, organizational, environmental, family, and individual interventions, usually in a cooperative team.
