relationship

n. 1. An emotional bond between people in which each person's actions affect the other and particularly one which lasts over time. 2. Any covariance of any two things such that changes in one are reflected to some degree in the other although not necessarily causally linked. Thus there is a relationship between birth order and political affiliation although the relationship is imperfect and not necessarily causal.
