Wechsler Intelligence Tests
n. Any of several measures of intelligence developed originally by David Wechsler and subsequently revised by others. These include the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC), and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI). The Wechsler Memory Scales (WMS) and the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT) are intended to discriminate between intelligence and specific learning problems. Adaptations of the Wechsler tests exist for many countries and languages.
