Pacinian corpuscle

n. A sensory nerve ending surrounded by several layers of connective tissue about the size and shape of a grain of rice, which is sensitive to pressure and vibration. Pacinian corpuscles are found in hairy skin, the sides of the fingers and palms, tendons, and abdominal membranes.
