chorea

n. Rapid, involuntary, and purposeless jerky movements of the arms, legs, and facial muscles characteristic of Huntington's disease. When chorea becomes extreme and the whole body begins to thrash, it is referred to as ballism. Huntington's chorea is caused by excessive levels of dopamine in motor areas of the brain, and its symptoms are alleviated with antidopaminergic drugs.
