n. A belief that the soul has left the body, resulting in apathy, fatigue, headaches, digestive difficulties, weight loss, muscle aches, sleep disturbance, and low self-esteem. This is a psychological disorder usually found among persons from Latin American countries including emigrants from those countries. Also called chibih, espanto, pasmo, perdida del alma, and tripa ida.
