seizure disorder
n. A family of chronic brain disorders characterized by uncontrolled electrical activity in the brain, some of which produce convulsions, clouding of consciousness, unconsciousness, and various sensory and cognitive malfunctions, depending on which parts of the brain are involved. Brain trauma is the most common known cause of this disorder, but in many cases the cause is unknown. Also known as epilepsy.
