circumplex model of emotion

n. A model of emotion in which emotions are arranged in a circle such that near emotions are similar, emotions across the circle are nearly opposite, and emotions close to right angles are largely unrelated. Such models are appealing for their visual symmetry but have little predictive power when compared with other models.
