planned behavior, theory of
n. The theory of planned behavior (TpB) is a model for predicting behaviors that are not necessarily within a person's control. There are five main components constituting the TpB. The theory states that an individual's behavior is best predicted from his/her intention of performing the behavior and his/her control over it. This behavioral intention must first be predicted from knowledge of the individual's attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control for performing the behavior. – VKP, LAB
