n. A measure of intellectual ability in which a subject is given a sequence of numbers and required either to fill in a missing number or supply the next number in the sequence. Thus is the sequence 2, 4, 6, __, 10 the missing number is 8, and in the sequence 2, 3, 5, 7, ___. the missing number is 11.
