neo-Freudian

adj. Of or relating to any psychological approach that has evolved from the psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud but has altered or added to it in some way, usually by focusing on the individual and his or her relations with the external world. Neo-Freudian theorists include Erik Erikson, George Klein, Heinz Kohut, Karen Horney, and Margaret Mahler.
