Rosenzweig Picture-Frustration Study
n. A test of characteristic modes of responding to frustration. It consists of 24 cartoon drawings in which one person is saying something which is likely to be experienced as frustrating by the other person in the cartoon. The frustrated person in each cartoon has a blank voice bubble, whose content the test taker is supposed to supply. The test is then scored for direction of aggression (inward, outward, or repressed), type of aggression, obstacle dominance, ego defense, need persistence, and the degree to which the subject's score conforms to typical responses.
