self-blaming
n. The process of harassing one's self with criticism, usually involving holding one's self responsible for negative but not positive outcomes as well as finding one's self morally culpable and reproaching one's self whether it is reasonable to do so or not. The level of self-blaming is partly a cultural phenomenon with some cultures valuing the tendency and others devaluing it.
