Raven's Progressive Matrices
n. A test of intelligence designed by John Raven which is intended to be fair to persons of different cultural backgrounds and those who have had different educational opportunities. In the test the subject is presented with a series of matrices, each of which has a piece missing, and the subject is required to select which of several possibilities would correctly complete the matrix. The matrices are presented in order of difficulty, and the test has been found to give scores which are correlated with standard intelligence tests and particularly with performance scores on those tests. There are several forms of the test.
