n. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) is a statistical software package very commonly used by researchers. SPSS offers a spreadsheet-type data format similar in layout to Microsoft Excel. SPSS is capable of many different data manipulations and sophisticated statistical tests. Early versions of SPSS required researchers to have some basic programming ability in order to run statistical analyses. More contemporary versions have a much more user-friendly point-and-click menu, though it is still possible to direct the software manually through text commands.– MWP
