tunnel vision
n. 1. A defect in vision such that a person lacks a significant portion of his or her peripheral vision so his/her capacity to see is like always looking through a dark tunnel. This can be caused by glaucoma, retinosa pigmentosa, or bilateral injury to visual centers in the brain. 2. Being narrow-minded so that a person cannot recognize things outside his/her own limited perspective or set of concepts.
