perceptual memory

n. The long-term store of sensory information about particular objects such as people's 
faces or voices or food odors or tastes, which is remembered differently than general semantic knowledge. This is also differentiated from sensory memory, which is the very-short-term storage of large amounts of sensory information during percept formation.
