skin conductance response
n. A change in the level or degree to which the skin conducts electricity, which tends to decrease when subcutaneous muscles relax and increase when those muscles tense and is used as a crude estimate of general bodily tension. This has been used in crude and usually inaccurate attempts to create a lie detector. Also known as galvanic skin response.
