sympathetic apraxia

n. Apraxia observed in patients with anterior left hemisphere damage associated with right hemiparesis. Because of the right hemiparesis, praxis can only be tested in the left hand. In consequence, the patient presents simultaneously two different motor defects: paresis in the right hand and apraxia in the left. Sympathetic apraxia is frequently found in motor aphasias. – AA
