tardive dyskinesia
n. Involuntary tremors, jerky displacement of the facial or limb muscles, and stereotyped or rhythmic motions of the tongue, fingers, or other extremities, usually resulting from the long-term use of antipsychotic medication and/or damage to the basal ganglia. It is often a permanent effect of long-term use of antipsychotic medications.
