scopolamine

n. A colorless liquid, C17H21NO4, found in the henbane plant which acts as a central nervous system depressant by replacing acetylcholine at neural receptor sites. It has sedative effects and often causes amnesia so that little or nothing is remembered of the period in which it is effective. It has been used in low doses to combat motion sickness. Also called hyoscine.
