A disturbance in the fluency and time patterning of speech characterized by repetition of sounds or syllables, drawing out of some sounds, inappropriate pauses within words, interjections of inappropriate sounds in ords, obvious blocking of intended speech, word substitutions, and excess physical tension during speech.
