n. C₄H₄N₂O₂, One of the four bases which form all RNA; it corresponds to thymine in DNA, into which it is transformed during DNA synthesis. It is commonly found in many organic tissues, absorbs light, and readily pairs with adenine and reacts with many chemicals because of its unsaturated structure.
