rationality, bounded
n. An approach to understanding human judgment in which it is recognized that completely working out a logic for all actions in life is impossible because of limitations of information and processing capacity as well as not being worthwhile in turns of rewards achieved by doing so. Bounded rational approaches often use heuristics, or rules of thumb, to make choices which involve less information and less processing time and usually achieve correct results.
