minor depressive disorder

n. A mood disorder lasting more than 2 weeks characterized by fewer symptoms and less impairment than a major depression. Symptoms may include depressed mood, a belief one is helpless, diminished interest and pleasure in daily activities, feelings of worthlessness, inappropriate guilt, low energy level, psychomotor agitation or retardation, recurrent thoughts of death or suicide, sleep disturbance, and weight loss or gain.
