temporal lobe seizure

n. A burst of uncontrolled electrical activity in the temporal lobe of the cortex characterized by a partial or complete loss of consciousness or alternatively by automatic, abnormal, or violent behavior without loss of consciousness. Such attacks are often preceded by unusual experiences such as an aura, déjà vu, a sense that things are not real or are unfamiliar, a strange odor, or hallucinations.
