Weber's law

The idea that there is a constant relationship between the intensity of a stimulus and the amount of change in the stimulus needed for a human observer to detect the change, as expressed in the formula \(\Delta I / I = k\) (where \(I\) is the physical intensity of a stimulus, \(\Delta I\) is a change in physical intensity, and \(k\) is a constant).
