nonverbal hot spot
n. A term coined originally by Paul Ekman and Mark Frank to refer to any occurrence in which the messages sent in verbal and nonverbal signals are inconsistent with each other, or with the context. It is often used as a method for detecting lies. But a hot spot is not necessarily a sign of lying; rather, it is an indicator of areas of concealed thoughts or feelings.
