mesolimbic system

n. A system of dopaminergic neurons with cell bodies in the tegmentum of the midbrain and axon terminals in the limbic system which is believed to be a main route for pleasure and reward in the brain. It includes parts of the nucleus accumbens, amygdala, and olfactory tubercle.
