koro

n. A mental disorder found only in some Southeast Asian and south Chinese cultures, which is characterized by sudden intense fear of the penis in men or belief that the nipples and vulva in women are shrinking and will disappear into the body, causing death. It is much more common among males than among females. Also called shook yang, shook yong, suo yang, jinjinia bemar, and rok-joo.
