inverted Oedipus complex

n. A reversal of the normal Oedipus situation so that a little boy desires the father and is jealous of and hates the mother. Or a situation in which a little girl comes to desire her mother's power and so wants to seduce her while resenting the father. This inversion usually results in a homosexual pattern of sexual adjustment.
