female orgasmic disorder

n. A recurrent delay in or inability to reach orgasm after becoming sexually excited. Women vary widely in the type and amount of stimulation required to reach orgasm, and this diagnosis is made only if there is an inability to reach orgasm with adequate stimulation or the time and effort required to reach orgasm are beyond the normal range and cause distress to the woman or relationship difficulties for her. This diagnosis is not made if the problem is a lack of stimulation appropriate for the individual woman. This disorder is correlated with a repressive sexual upbringing.
