environmental psychology

n. The branch of psychology devoted to the study of the interactions between the physical aspects of the environment and the functioning of the mind. It is often concerned with such issues as environmental stressors; house, office, and building design; ergonomics; architecture and city planning; and their relationships with natural aspects of the environment.
