An enduring and pervasive pattern of personal adjustment characterized by the experience of a subjectively irresistible impulse to a course of action usually against the conscious wishes of the self, usually co-occurring with mental rigidity, perfectionism, excessive attention to detail, cleanliness, obsession with order and performing one's duties, inhibition, guilt, lack of humor, bodily tension, and anal sexuality.
