anti-Mullerian hormone
n. (AMH) A hormone produced in the testes during gestation that prevents the Mullerian ducts from turning into female sexual organs. Also called Mullerian inhibiting hormone (MiH). Each testis produces AMH only for its own side of the body, and failure of one or both of the testes to produce AMH can result in the development of a rudimentary uterus and failure of the testes to descend during puberty.
