agoraphobia

n. An irrational and generalized fear of being in open places or of leaving one’s home, being in a crowded place, traveling alone, being in a place from which quick exit is difficult or in which panic or other strong emotions would be very embarrassing. Agoraphobia is among the most common of phobias.
