monism
n. In philosophy, a point of view in which reality consists of only a single substance. In idealistic monism, mind is the only reality; in materialism, physical substance is the only reality; and in pantheism, God is the only reality. It is a denial of dualism, which, in Western thought, has supposed that mind and body are two separate kinds of reality.
