n. 1. A scale on the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory consisting of 15 items which describe the test taker in an unrealistically perfectionistic and idealized manner which is used to detect dishonest responding to the test. 2. Any scale used to detect lying or unrealistically positive responses (socially desirable responding) to any test with such a scale.
