information processing (unconscious)
n. 1. A cognitive approach to psychology in which processes of the central nervous system outside awareness are modeled using computer programming concepts, which includes the vast majority of such processes although the term is usually applied only to the processing of data which is potentially conscious. This area includes study of sensation and perception, attention, learning, memory, decision making, and response mechanisms.
