hypnoanalysis

n. A brief form of psychoanalysis aided by hypnosis which is used to uncover memories especially of infancy and childhood which are believed to be the source of current emotional problems. This is a controversial technique within psychoanalysis in part because of recent research that suggests that hypnotically aided memories are often false.
