hatred

n. An attitude or disposition that includes intense feelings of dislike, animosity, hostility, and aversion toward a person, group, or object. Although many individuals believe that hatred is an emotion, it is better considered an attitude or disposition, because it is long-lasting and not temporary or transient, as fleeting emotions are. Hatred is considered to play a central role in many theories of aggression, including those involving terrorist groups and other ideologically motivated groups. Hatred may result from the combination of repeated experiences of anger and disgust toward the hated object.
