Ebbinghaus curve

n. A negatively accelerated curve of forgetting over time since learning, usually of nonsense syllables. This curve demonstrates that there is a very rapid reduction in memory beginning in the first few minutes after learning, which quickly slows, showing a small amount of memory over long periods.
