The application of multipart decision theory to communications in which parties have different interests and have more than one possible strategy or action they can take and whose outcome depends on the actions of the other party(ies). Different communication strategies are analyzed; possible outcomes are delineated on the basis of either logic, previous experience, or both; strategies are adopted; and their outcome is tested.
