Bonferroni correction

In statistics a correction in making statistical inferences which takes into account the number of inferences made by increasing the criterion for rejection of the null hypothesis in proportion with the number of inferences made. Thus, if 10 inferences are made in a study, the criterion will be increased 10 times so that if a .05 criterion were originally intended, it would be increased to .005.
