blindness
n. A lack of visual perception which can be partial or total. Legal blindness is defined as visual sharpness at 20 feet worse than a normally sighted person would have at 400 feet or having a visual field less than 20 degrees. In some forms of blindness a person is able to detect the presence or absence of light but not perceive objects in space.
